The summer that will be remembered is already drawing to a close. As our thoughts turn to fall, a return to school in some form, and the most dreaded winter ever, I wanted to share a few things that have made my life better over the last couple of months.
As usual, I’ve included a mix of personal and skin care products, fashion finds, and what we have been reading and watching recently.

Favorite Things for Summer 2020
Here are the products, podcasts, books, and entertainment making us happy right now.
Turtle Fur Face Masks
Now that face masks are the must-have accessory of the year, it pays to get some that are cute and comfortable. I prefer the 3D style that doesn't ride up over my eyes, and made of a soft, double-layer cotton fabric. These from Turtle Fur also have adjustable ear straps.
Quip Electric Toothbrush
I went for my dental cleaning recently and was praised by my hygenist as having the cleanest teeth of any patient that week and the dentist asked if I could give lessons to other patients on brushing. So yes, I think using the quip electric toothbrush makes a difference!
AnnMarie Skin Care Coconut Honey Mask
This coconut honey mask smells delicious and makes my face feel so soft and supple. Made with with Colorado mountain wildflower honey, it also soothes sensitive skin.
Soludos Espadrille
These "La Vie En Rose" espadrille slippers have become a permanent fixture in my pandemic attire. And I'll admit, sometimes I'm sipping a glass of rosé while wearing them.
Sun Bum Cool Down Lotion
I've spent a little more time outside than usual this summer and when I get a little too much sun, the Sun Bum Cool Down lotion feels so good on my skin. Plus it smells amazing!
Life Is Good Hike Like a Mother T-shirt
Perfect for all you hiking moms! I love the quality of Life is Good clothing and this shirt was a must have for me.
Black Diamond Alpine Flz Z Trekking Poles
I wrote about these in my recent hiking post but these poles are game changing when hiking and I love the easy fold up design.
Dreamland Burning
This Young Adult novel flips between past and present to educate the reader about the Tulsa Massacre in a fast-moving plot, while also addressing current-day issues of racial injustice and policing.
The Lost Girls of Camp Forevermore: A Novel
This book tells the story of a group of girls that experienced a traumatic event while at sleep away camp when they were eleven. It jumps between telling the story of what happened with skipping forward in their lives to see the impact it had on their path in life. It was a fast read and Kim Fu does a great job quickly giving life and context to the characters.
Hysteria Podcast
Every week, comedy-writer Erin Ryan and her crack up co-hosts dish about politics, feminism, and current events in a way that informs and entertains.
Street Food: Latin America
I really miss travel and for me, travel involves trying local foods. Watching Street Food: Latin America on Netflix quenches my wanderlust and whets my appetite to try some of these simple street foods at home.
Dark
This German (dubbed in English) show on Netflix has been one of my favorite mind benders. If you love shows that make you think or anything involving time travel, this is one to bend your brain.
