Nearby, you can enjoy exploring the quaint village of Jackson, including a visit to nearby Jackson Falls as well as the Honeymoon Bridge, named one of the most photographed covered bridges in the world. The Glen House, Gorham

The Glen House is an award-winning, 68-room hotel at the base of Mt. Washington and next to Great Glen Trails adventure center. Welcoming to both couples and their furry friends, The Glen House offers a “Snow in Love” romance package in the winter that includes a keepsake blanket, welcome cocktails, and a welcome treat. Dogs are welcomed with a nightly pet fee of $20, which includes the use of a doggie bed and water bowl, as well as treats.

Adjacent to The Glen House is the legendary Great Glen Trails Outdoor Center, which offers world-class cross-country skiing, snowshoe and fat biking trails, a snow tubing hill, as well as a fully equipped ski shop for rentals and other gear. Guests can also book a ride on the Mt. Washington SnowCoach, to reach the top of the highest peak in the Northeast. Minutes away from The Glen House, there’s also alpine skiing at Wildcat Mountain and its sister resort, Attitash Mountain Resort, part of Vail resorts for the Epic Passholders.

When you are ready to warm up, The Glen House’s bar was named “The Most Beautiful Bar in New Hampshire” by Architectural Digest, offering a fireplace and dramatic floor-to-ceiling windows looking out on the snow-covered Presidential Range. There’s also a fitness area and indoor pool and outdoor firepits for après ski.

Adair Country Inn, Bethlehem

The Adair Country Inn and Restaurant is a historic inn built in 1927 as a wedding gift for the owner’s daughter. The colorful and stunning gardens that grow around the property were designed by the Olmsted Brothers, sons of the man who designed Central Park in NYC.  Now, the inn serves as a romantic and intimate retreat for adults only and offers an add-on Romance Getaway Package which includes candles, flowers, champagne and treats to share. 

The Adair features a cozy dining room, complete with a fireplace, serving up flavorful New England-style cuisine. Meals can also be enjoyed al fresco on the outdoor garden patio, or in the cozy library pub. The Inn offers 15 guestrooms and suites, each with its own individual decor.

Guests of the Adair are close to the trail system at the Rocks as well as to the town of Littleton, where they can enjoy a day of walking its historic Main Street, browsing the local shops, enjoying a wood-fired pizza and beer tasting at Schilling Beer Co., or taking a leisurely and romantic stroll across the Ammonoosuc River via the Riverwalk Covered Bridge.

Snow Village Inn, Eaton

Snowvillage Inn is just five minutes from the popular town of North Conway in the White Mountains. Snuggled on the slopes of Foss Mountain, the Inn offers sweeping views of Mount Washington and the entire Presidential Mountain Range.

Snowvillage Inn has three separate buildings with a variety of rooms, some of which have fireplaces and most have views of the mountains. Guests of the Main Inn also receive a hearty breakfast with homemade baked goods and a hot entree every morning.

The Romantic Valentine’s Day package includes two nights of lodging, a four-course Valentine’s Day dinner for two at Max’s Restaurant, a chilled bottle of Prosecco and artisan cheese platter, champagne tasting and pairing on Saturday night, breakfast each morning, and use of snowshoes.

The Innkeeper, Jennifer Kovach, has created a Lover’s Lane on the Inn’s 10 kilometers of snowshoe trails. Along the trails, there are various stops in the woods that ask lovers to express their feelings for each other and reaffirm their love for their relationship.

The Wentworth, Jackson

The Wentworth is a historic 61-room inn located in the heart of Jackson, NH, just steps away from rolling mountains, rushing rivers and covered bridges. This recently refurbished country inn features two dining venues which include a full-service restaurant named 1869 Room, and Alpine, a new modern tavern with a specialty menu of bourbons and whiskeys.

There are 20 spa suites with private outdoor hot tubs, an outdoor heated pool, spa services, clay tennis court, lawn games, and mountain bikes, as well as electric bike rentals. In the winter, guests will find on-property ice skating and snowshoes, access to nearby downhill skiing facilities, and cross-country skiing trails at the neighboring Jackson Ski Touring Foundation. 

The Wentworth now offers a Whirlwind Romance package, which features a two-night stay in a Spa Suite featuring an outdoor hot tub, as well as text messaging access to the inn’s Romance Hotline, a chilled bottle of prosecco and assorted local chocolates in-room, one four-course dinner for two at the hotel’s 1869 Room, hot breakfast for two with mimosas daily, late check-out (1pm) and hot tub turndown service. 

Guests can choose from a menu of add-ons such as couple massages, guided hikes, in-room flower deliveries, seasonal horse drawn carriages for two, helicopter ride over the White Mountains, and much more. The package is available now through July 2024.

Lumen Nature Retreat, N. Woodstock

Lumen Nature Retreat is a 20-acre property in the White Mountains of New Hampshire with 35 waterfront campsites, making for a unique romantic getaway. The accommodations range from rustic to comfortable with six A-frame tent sites, nine Safari tent sites, and 20 Nordic-inspired cabins on wheels. The property is open year-round and the cabins offer both heating and air conditioning. Each campsite has two Adirondack chairs, a picnic table, and a stainless steel smokeless fire pit and the tents also have private hammocks.

The campgrounds also feature a shared bathhouse, two Nordic saunas, and a communal fire pit on a peaceful pond setting. Located just minutes from Lincoln and Woodstock, Lumen is a great destination for explore Franconia Notch State Park and the White Mountains.
